Young people talk about their vision for Africa
16 year old Compaore Arlette.S. Sakina is a student at
College Savoir Plus in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
When asked “what Africa do you want?” she said:
“I want an Africa where people obey traffic lights and
signals, and the cost of buying shoes and clothes
is less expensive”.
17 year old Da Sie Eliot is a student at College Savoir Plus in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He wants to become a great auto mechanic. When asked, “what Africa do you want?” he said: “I want to have the best quality roads / infrastructure in Africa with colorful, ecofriendly cars that will reduce pollution and help protect the environment.”
18 year Kabore Sarata is a student at Lycée Privé Excelle 2000 school in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. When asked “what Africa do you want?” she said: “A few years ago, my friend had been hit by a car and had to be hospitalized. While I went to see him, I was extremely astonished to see the quality of the treatment he received. He suffered so much. I want to see the health system improved. I want people to be treated equally with dignity and respect”
16 year old Dafiniza Michaël Steve is also a student at College Savoir Plus. He wants to become a journalist and work at the radio station. When asked “what Africa do you want?” he said “I want peace in Africa and wealthy people to be kind and show compassionate hearts and help poor people, as you never know if one day you may be poor and need help”.
15 year old Ouedraogo Sadia is a student at College Savoir Plus in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. When asked “what Africa do you want?” she said: “I want to see children happy and healthy. I want to be a pediatric doctor to treat childhood illnesses and to relive them from the
suffering. My aunt has become my inspiration as she is a nurse working at the Pediatric University Hospital Charles de Gaulle, Ouagadougou.”
14 year old Zapré Faouzia is a student at Lycée Privé le Reveil in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. When asked “what Africa do you want?” she said: “I want to have good sanitation and hygiene infrastructure with access to clean water as well as a clean environment without rubbish and plastic bags”. In the future, she is planning to study medicine and
presently working hard to achieve the best marks at school.
18 year old Zong – Naba .W. Claude is a student at College Savoir Plus in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He is very active and a member of a football club where he plays. When asked, “what Africa do you want?” he said: “I believe in an education. I want all children to attend school. I want to see orphan children have easy access to an education and to have the care they deserve as a children”.
19 years old Tapsoba M. Elise Bertille is a student at Lycée Bogodogo School in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. She would like to become a medicine doctor in the future. Her key priority is to work with people, especially saving lives of the most vulnerable. When asked, “what Africa do you want?” she said: “I want that all people be treated fairly and equally and to have equal opportunity for everyone. It does not matter, if you a rich or poor. We all equal and have the same rights and should be treated equally”.
16 year old Kam Dilan is a student at College Savoir Plus in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He loves football as much as studying. When asked, “what Africa do you want?” he said: “I want an Africa where social institutes and training clubs can be developed to provide an opportunity for everyone to discover, explore and develop their given talents and gifts. And, I want Africa to have wise, good, political leaders who are servants and look after their people with care”.
18 year old Nikiema Oumoul Koulsoum is a student at College Savoir Plus in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. She is very interested in communication and would like to be an event journalist one day. When asked, “what Africa do you want?” she said: “I want an Africa where there is freedom of speech as well free, trusted media sources. Additionally, to have greater access and faster flow of the Internet network connection”
17 year old Yonli Souglim Po Gaëtan is a student at College Savoir Plus in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
He plays guitar and piano. Currently, he uses his talent and passion by playing each Sunday at his Church.
When asked, “what Africa do you want?” he said: “I want to see Africa without any terrorist attacks and harm. I want Africa to be a place where everyone feels safe and secure, where you can live without fear of your safety”.
16 year old Damiba Arnaud Brice is a student at College Savoir Plus in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He is a big fan of the IT world. When asked, “what Africa do you want?” he said: “I want to see Africa develop in computer science as well to have excellent training schools in this field”
